Ian has trained and worked as a CPA for many years, and was the Technical Director of an international CPA firm where he provided tax advisory services to clients and in-house training for staff in the Asia Pacific offices. He was also an Associate Director of Education and Training at the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs where he was responsible for all of the professional tax and law exam papers, as well as the training and support of facilitators for the student workshops.
He completed the Juris Doctor (JD) programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and was a recipient of the JD prize for 2007/08 to 2009/10. He also obtained the Master of Education degree at the University of Hong Kong.
Currently, he teaches Business Law and Company Law. He also teaches foreign lawyers attempting the Overseas Lawyers Qualification Examination (OLQE) as well as students enrolled in the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) programme.
