A team of four students from the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University won the championship at the North Asia Final of CGMA Global Business Challenge held at Xiamen University on 31 May 2019. Our team also won the awards of Best Video and Best Talent. CGMA is short for Chartered Global Management Accountant. Our team, which represented Hong Kong, comprised of four students: Miss Clair Cui Xinyue, Miss Lukia Gu Yinglin, Miss Grace Chen Shuyu, and Miss Michelle Zhou Zimeng. In the North Asia final, there were ten teams from universities of mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Japan and Mongolia. The competition adopted a business case format and required student teams to apply and integrate their business knowledge and experience to help solve practical problems faced by a real-world company. They competed for the championship by presenting their ideas in front of a panel of industry expert judges who held senior positions in multinational corporations.

The competition is organized by The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA|CIMA), which combines the strengths of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and has 657,000 members and students in 179 countries and territories.
